Content updated: 10/2/2026, 4:20 PM

Hello everyone at Luuppi, and happy autumn from the education policy team! We hope your studies and everyday life have gotten off to a great start, and that all our new students are settling nicely into university life. Once again, our team wanted to share a little update with you, along with some important information and useful tips for the autumn. So, grab a cup of coffee and have a read below!

Alternative Study Guide

Alternative Study Guide is a handy little information package published every year, bringing all the essential information together in one place. So, if there’s anything that’s still unclear, or if you’re simply curious, have a look through the guide below. And don’t forget to check out TREY’s Fresher’s Guide as well!

Alternative Study Guide

Student’s Navigaattori

Student’s Navigaattori started operating at the beginning of the first study period. Navigaattori offers easy-to-access guidance and support, both with and without an appointment, either on campus or online. If you’re not sure who to contact, Navigaattori can help point you in the right direction. You can also always reach out directly to, for example, a study advisor or us in the education policy team.

New EXAM guidelines

The EXAM guidelines have been updated and clarified. Bringing a wristwatch, phone, or any other prohibited item into an EXAM room is not allowed and may result in a suspected case of academic misconduct. We recommend familiarising yourself with the EXAM guidelines before exam week, so you don’t end up having to retake an exam simply because, for example, you were wearing a wristwatch. Monitoring was tightened towards the end of the previous academic year, so students from earlier years should also make sure they don’t bring any prohibited items into the exam room. Read full guidelines here.

Study group is back!

This year’s Luuppi and TiTe study group has started! The study group is a great place to work on your coursework together with other students. You can get help especially with the programming 1 assignments and project. The next study group will take place on October 27th. New students can also earn lärpäke points by attending the study group!

New OPS

The new curriculum (OPS) will come into effect on 1.8. 2027. The new curriculum will be published in Sisu at the beginning of March. As a general rule, students who started their studies before 2027 can continue following their current study plan. However, keep in mind that some courses may be discontinued or changed. More information about the transition rules and which courses can be used as substitutes will be provided by the education specialists during the academic year.
