Meeting to discuss the transfer of degree programmes between campuses

Content updated: 10/5/2024, 3:01 PM

The Luuppi Board has sent a statement to the university on the handling of the transfer of degree programmes between campuses. The statement highlights the shortcomings in the decision-making, information and implementation of the move of degree programmes and expresses concern and disappointment about the impact on students and the subject association.

The faculty leadership invited us to discuss the issue and reflect on how things could have been handled better and how to change in the future.

The meeting was attended by ITC faculty management and Luuppi reps and members.

At the meeting we reviewed the statement and discussed the way forward.

Luuppi was supposed to have an association space at the Hervanta campus for the orientation week, but for various reasons it has taken longer than expected to get the space. The dean of our faculty offered to take point on the matter so that we could get the space as soon as possible.

The student restaurants in Hervanta are already undercapacity and the situation will get worse with the move of Luuppi. The problem has been acknowledged and our dean will take a look at what can be done about it.

We also agreed on new ways to communicate better between Luuppi and the faculty. This will help us avoid similar problems in the future.

Overall, the meeting went well and the problems were solved in a good spirit. For further questions about the meeting, please send an email to kopo@luuppi.fi
