Luuppikyykkä

It’s that time of year again – Luuppikyykkä is back! Grease up your bats, gather your team, and get ready for an intense battle. The event is supported by TEK, whose contribution ensures that the grill stays hot throughout the event.

The games will begin at 5:00 PM, but teams are asked to arrive no later than 4:45 PM so that the matches can start on time.

Even if you’re not keen on playing, you’re more than welcome to come cheer on your favorite teams and enjoy the kyykkä atmosphere!

The tournament will be played as an academic team kyykkä competition with 16 teams. Each team must consist of four players; if you are planning a different team size, please contact the head referee (kyykka@luuppi.fi).

In the qualification stage, all teams within each group will play against the other teams in their group. Rankings within the group are determined by the number of wins, and in the case of ties, by head-to-head results.

Registration works by each team purchasing one team ticket. During registration, the team name, abbreviation, and player names will be requested. The kyykkä coordinators hope that team lineups will correspond reasonably well to the submitted information.

Teams that advance further in the tournament are advised to bring refreshments and warm clothing, as the tournament will last several hours.

Closer to the tournament, the kyykkä coordinators will publish a pre-analysis of the teams.

The winning team of Luuppikyykkä will receive not only fame and glory, but also an awesome prize! The top three teams will be awarded.
